Reason Core Security

Reason Core Security’s purpose is to keep your PC safe and address threats that antivirus solutions may miss. This security solution can detect, block, and remove malware, adware, as well as potentially unwanted applications. It provides real-time protection against such threats, it can automatically run scans and detect such threats.

Reason Core Security works with any Windows edition from Windows XP and Vista up to Windows 8 and 10. A simple setup wizard will help you install it on a Windows PC.
Reason Core Security plays nice with existing antivirus solutions. So if you have an antivirus on your Windows-powered PC, you won’t run into any problems by letting Reason Core Security work alongside it.

Reason Core Security is available as a free Standard Protection and as a paid Complete Protection edition. The aforementioned setup wizard includes both editions. It will install Reason Core Security and let you use the Complete Protection edition for a trial period of 30 days.

A “Welcome to Reason Core Security!” dialog will show up the first time you run the application. It informs you that this application provides real-time protection against all types of active threats, that the Bundle Protection feature keeps you from installing unwanted software, and that the Protection Score provides a real-time snapshot of how safe your PC is.

The Welcome dialog mentioned above will ask to initiate an Initial Compatibility Scan. If any threats are detected during this scan, Reason Core Security will bring up a list of results and will offer to remove said threats.

Reason Core Security’s interface is divided into four sections:
Home – view your Protection Score, initiate a Quick, Full or Custom Scan.
Tools – manage installed programs, manage startup items, manage browser add-ons, repair and reset various Windows settings.
Settings – access multiple options that govern how Reason Core Security works.
History – view quarantined items, view a list of all completed scans, access logs of all events that can be used to troubleshoot problems.

As mentioned above, Reason Core Security is available as a free Standard Protection and as a paid Complete Protection edition.

Reason Core Security Standard Protection has the following functionality to offer: malware and spyware protection; adware and potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) protection; browser protection; bundle protection; run on-demand scans.

Reason Core Security Complete Protection has these extra bits of functionality to offer: real-time protection; automated scanning.
